About Pastry Skincare
Pastry Skincare is a proudly South African brand built around the skin concerns most beauty brands quietly ignore. We started with a simple observation: South African shelves were full of imported skincare designed for skin that doesn't look like ours. Hyperpigmentation, dark marks, body acne, in-grown bumps from shaving, strawberry skin, eczema, dry skin layered on top of melanin-rich skin — these are the everyday realities for most South Africans, and they deserved a brand that addressed them properly.
So we built Pastry. Locally formulated. Dermatologist-tested. Vegan. Built around clinically recognised actives like Niacinamide, Salicylic Acid, Glycolic Acid, Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin C, Alpha Arbutin, Tranexamic Acid, Bakuchiol, Squalane and Ceramides — used at concentrations that actually do something, not at marketing-friendly trace amounts.
What we stand for
- Concern-first formulation. Every product is built to solve a specific skin problem, not to fit a trend. Our serums target hyperpigmentation. Our body washes exfoliate where shaving and friction cause bumps and dark marks. Our sunscreens are formulated white-cast-free for melanin-rich skin.
- Ingredient transparency. Every product page lists the full INCI ingredient list. No hidden fillers, no "proprietary blends" hiding the actives.
- Fragrance choice. Most ranges come in a Fragrance Free option for sensitive skin, alongside light scented variants for those who prefer them. Your skin, your call.
- Vegan and cruelty-free. All formulas are vegan and we don't test on animals — ever.
- Photo-protective ethos. Many of our actives are photosensitising. We pair them with sunscreen guidance on every product page because results without UV protection are temporary results.
